Homebird isn’t a success story. It’s not rags to riches. It’s messy, real, funny, and ever-evolving, about the choices Nikki made, the chances she took, and the lessons she learned along the way.
Leaving Scotland was never supposed to be permanent. It was meant to be a six-month trip. Four countries (Indonesia, Montenegro, UAE, and now Belgium), two businesses, one husband, one dog, and one son later, she’s still figuring things out.
From language barriers and homesickness to self-doubt, postpartum depression, anxiety, and endless bureaucracy in countries never on her map, Nikki often wondered if she was off her head, but she kept going anyway.
